I know there is a business meeting scheduled. What will be discussed during the meeting?

On Saturday, October 27, at 8:00 a.m., member programs will debate motions on key issues facing the Association and the profession, and hear updates from leaders of PAEA and other PA organizations. Election results will be announced. The agenda and additional information about this meeting can be found in the Business Meeting Book, which will be available prior to the Forum.

If I’m interested in talking with someone who holds the same position as I do, whereshould I go?

On Thursday, October 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m., PA educators with the same job responsibilities will gather during retreats to discuss issues pertinent to their roles. Look for the retreat geared toward your specific role in the Forum’s onsite guide.

Is there a tool to help me plan my Forum experience?

Again this year, we will offer a mobile app to help you navigate the event and plan your schedule. The mobile app will launch a few weeks prior to the conference. At that time, all registered attendees will receive an email with instructions for downloading and logging into the app.

Continuing Medical Education

How many CME credits can I earn?

Nearly every education session at the 2018 Education Forum will be eligible for Category 1 CME credit. More information on the total number of CME hours available at this year’s Forum will be announced by the end of July.

Remember, however, that you must complete an evaluation for each session to claim your CME credit. Only those hours actually spent participating in a CME activity should be claimed.

Which exhibitors can I expect to see in the Solutions Pavilion?

A list of exhibitors and a map of their locations in the Solutions Pavilion will be available and will also be included in the final program.

Where in Anaheim is the 2018 PAEA Education Forum being held?

All events and activities are based out of the Disneyland Hotel at the Disneyland Resort. Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. and check-out is at 12:00 p.m. (PT).

Is there free Wi-Fi internet in the conference area?

Yes, Wi-Fi will be complimentary during the event. For more information while at the Forum, check your onsite guide or ask a PAEA staff member.

How do I get free Wi-Fi internet in my hotel room?

Complimentary wireless internet access is available in all Disneyland guest rooms and many public areas, including the main lobby and pool deck. To connect to the internet using a wireless-enabled device, choose the "Disneyland Resort Hotels Wi-Fi" network.

When should I arrive in Anaheim?

Forum registration begins on Wednesday, October 24, at 1:00 p.m., and the event officially kicks off that evening at 6:00 p.m. with the Welcome Reception. We do, however, hope you’ll join us even earlier for one of our PAEA Workshops, which take place Monday through Wednesday before the Forum begins. How do I get to the hotel?

There are two main airports that people typically use when traveling to Disneyland:

The Disneyland Resort Express shuttle is available at both of these airports. This is a convenient method to get from either LAX or SNA to the resort area. Buses depart on a schedule specific for each airport. Reservations are not required, but there is a fee to ride (from LAX: $30 one-way/$48 round trip; from SNA: $20 one-way/$35 roundtrip).

There are also a number of other shuttle, limousine, taxicab, and public transit options that can get you from the airport to the Disneyland Hotel.

You may decide to fly into Long Beach Airport (LGB), about 21 miles away. The Disneyland Resort Express shuttle is not available from LGB.

Will I be close to Disneyland or Disney California Adventure Park?

The conference hotel is within walking distance to everything in the Disneyland Resort. The entrance to Downtown Disney is right outside the conference hotel, and it is just a short 10–15 minute walk through Downtown Disney to the entrances of both theme parks.

Will there be time to go to Disneyland or Disney California Adventure Park?

The conference planning team is doing everything they can to plan a high-quality learning experience at the Forum, as well as make time for attendees to go out and enjoy everything Disney has to offer. Most of the conference’s educational programming will wrap up late afternoon/early evening each day. Forum sessions will also be over earlier on Saturday to allow time for people to enjoy a Saturday afternoon at Disney with their family, or for those who need to return to the east coast that day.

Are there discounted tickets?

The online portal where you book your hotel room is also where you can buy discounted theme park tickets. Please note that the online ticket store opens on June 18, 2018, and closes at 9:00 p.m. PT on October 18. Special discounted tickets will not be available once you arrive at the Resort.

What is there to see/do/eat in Anaheim outside of the Disneyland Resort?

From world-famous theme parks and nearby beaches to pro sports and foodie hotspots, sun-splashed Anaheim has it all. With a revitalized downtown, Anaheim has thousands of places to eat, a number of award-winning craft breweries, and amazing places to play — all close to Orange County?? beaches, golfing, and shopping. Presenters

What if I'm just presenting at the Forum but don't plan to stay for the conference?

This year, we are requiring all presenters to register for the conference, as noted in the Call for Proposals. One-day passes are available. All presenters and attendees must wear identification badges during the conference. Please contact our conference team at Forum@PAEAonline.org if you have any questions or concerns.

Is there special information I need to know as a presenter?

More information about presenting at the Forum will be available soon on our Presenter Resources page.

Registration

Do you offer group discounts?

Our conference team makes every effort to keep costs as low as possible, therefore, we are unable to offer group discounts. The best rate available is the “early bird” registration. The early bird deadline is August 15.

Am I able to transfer my registration?

Yes, and there is no additional charge to do so. You may do so by going into your registration page using the confirmation number that was sent to you upon registration. Go to the More Options button and click on "Substitute Registration." Feel free to contact us at Forum@PAEAonline.org if you are having trouble.

Am I able to modify or cancel my registration?

Yes. You'll need your confirmation email, which you should have received after registering. Click on the link to modify your registration and enter your confirmation number. You will then be able to edit your personal information or registration, or to cancel it altogether. There is a $100 cancellation fee if you do so before the deadline, on Friday, September 28, 2018. Feel free to contact us at Forum@PAEAonline.org if you encounter any issues.

What is the dress code?

Business casual is the suggested dress code for this event. Remember that meeting rooms tend to be a bit cold, so a sweater or light jacket might be necessary.

Additional Information

What will the weather be like?

In late October in Anaheim, you can expect a daily high temperature anywhere from 80° to 100°F, whereas the low usually falls to between 55° and 70°F. Please check www.weather.com for updated information as the conference gets closer.

What else do I need to know?

All receptions scheduled during the Forum have cash bars.
